With passion for LIFE
Background
Born in the Bronx to Korean immigrants. Raised in Orange County: climbing trees with my brother for ripe avocados, making wooden structures with my mother's good chef knife to shelter caterpillars, and creating makeshift slip and slide out of garbage bags and sprinklers.
So begins my Adult Life
Studied fine arts at a public university. Fell in love with oils, fine rice paper, graphite and ink. Found out I am an abstract expressionist with a penchant for writing elaborate stories.
Lived abroad in Tianjin, China to teach English and volunteer at the local orphanage for the physically and mentally challenged.
Decided I wanted to change the world and picked up a Masters of Public Health at an university out in the boonies. Loved my refugee and humanitarian relief courses and planned to pursue a life of raising orphans and building refugee camps.
Seasons passed
Life took a strange turn and I moved into the corporate world.
Worked in an investment company where I learned how to save for retirement, put more rigor into my days, and build skills in project management and change management. Then to NGOs where I got to visit Africa and India to train staff on change leadership. I came back to CA where I worked at a bank, a university, and in technology.
I pivoted to work for a heart company where my life took on an additional role as caretaker of my parents whose health was faltering to a sudden stroke and random bouts of pneumonia.
Now its the end of 2025, I will rest, explore, paint and wait to see where God leads:
Learning how to press in and be more gracious and kind in my daily living.
What beauty will I encounter today?
